1. (a) The district may spend district money, enter into agreements, or take other action it considers appropriate to recruit physicians, nurses, and other trained medical personnel, including:

   1. (1) advertising and marketing;
   2. (2) paying travel, recruitment, and relocation expenses;
   3. (3) providing and subsidizing office space or other facilities for a health care professional, including a physician who agrees to render services in the district or to serve as a district employee; and
   4. (4) subsidizing the income of a health care professional, including a physician who agrees to render services in the district.

2. (b) The district may pay the tuition or other expenses of a full-time medical, allied health professional, or nursing student who:

   1. (1) is enrolled in and is in good standing at an accredited school, college, or university; and
   2. (2) contractually agrees to render services to the district or become a district employee in return for that assistance.
