The three members of the Gulf States Marine Fisheries Commission from the state authorized under Article III of the Gulf States Marine Fisheries Compact are:

1. (1) the executive director of the department;
2. (2) a legislator appointed jointly by the lieutenant governor and speaker of the house of representatives; and
3. (3) a citizen with a knowledge of the marine fisheries problems appointed by the governor with the advice and consent of the senate.
