1. (a) The commission by rule may establish requirements for the renewal of a license issued under this chapter, including continuing education requirements.

2. (b) The commission may establish separate requirements for:

   1. (1) the initial renewal of a license; and
   2. (2) subsequent renewals of a license.

3. (c) Before establishing continuing education requirements under this section, the commission must consider the potential impact of continuing education with respect to:

   1. (1) identifying and assisting trafficked persons; and
   2. (2) providing license holders with opportunities to acquire new skills.
