1. (a) A director serves without compensation but may be reimbursed for a reasonable and necessary expense, including a travel expense, incurred in performing an official duty.

2. (b) To receive reimbursement under Subsection (a):

   1. (1) the director must report the expense in the zoo board's minute book or other zoo board record; and
   2. (2) the zoo board must approve the expense.
