To meet the needs of businesses in this state and to equip workers and job seekers with the skills required to compete for jobs in this state, the commission shall:

1. (1) partner with the business community to:

   1. (A) identify:

      1. (i) skills required by the business community;
      2. (ii) key industry sectors in the business community that are likely to benefit from skill development services and programs offered by the commission; and
      3. (iii) employment opportunities offered by the business community; and
   2. (B) develop services and programs that are designed to equip workers and job seekers with the skills required by the business community; and
2. (2) support business and community economic development activities of local workforce development boards and the state.
