1. (a) The following are not liable for damages arising from an act or omission of a health care provider participating in the network:

   1. (1) the trustee and its officers and employees, including the board of trustees of the trustee;
   2. (2) the group program;
   3. (3) the fund; and
   4. (4) a member of an advisory committee to the trustee.
2. (b) A health care provider participating in the network is an independent contractor and is responsible for the provider's acts or omissions.
