Tex. Ins. Code § 1551.154

Employee Payments

In the manner and form the board of trustees determines, payments required of an employee in excess of employer contributions shall be made by:

(1) a deduction from the employee's monthly pay or retirement benefits; or
(2) a reduction of the employee's salary.
