1. (a) Three or more residents of this state may form:

   1. (1) a life insurance company;
   2. (2) an accident insurance company;
   3. (3) a life and accident insurance company;
   4. (4) a health and accident insurance company; or
   5. (5) a life, health, and accident insurance company.

2. (b) To form a domestic insurance company:

   1. (1) each incorporator must sign and acknowledge the articles of incorporation of the company; and
   2. (2) the incorporators must file the articles of incorporation with the department.
