1. (a) The department may conduct an examination or investigation that is necessary to determine whether a license holder:

   1. (1) is in compliance with this chapter; or
   2. (2) has engaged in conduct that would warrant the revocation or suspension of the license holder's license.

2. (b) The department or an authorized representative of the department may:

   1. (1) require the attendance of any person;
   2. (2) examine the person under oath; and
   3. (3) compel the production of any relevant book, record, account, or document.
