1. (a) The commission and the Department of Public Safety of the State of Texas may collect inspection and maintenance information derived from the emissions inspection and maintenance program, including:

   1. (1) inspection results;
   2. (2) inspection station information;
   3. (3) information regarding vehicles operated on federal facilities;
   4. (4) vehicle registration information; and
   5. (5) other data the United States Environmental Protection Agency requires.

2. (b) The commission shall:

   1. (1) report the information to the United States Environmental Protection Agency; and
   2. (2) compare the information on inspection results with registration information for enforcement purposes.
