In the interest account the retirement system shall:

1. (1) deposit all income, interest, and dividends from deposits and investments of assets of the retirement system;
2. (2) accumulate net capital gains and losses resulting from the sale, call, maturity, conversion, or recognition of changes in carrying values of investments of the retirement system; and
3. (3) accumulate net income or losses from other investments.
