- (a) If so designated by the employing institution of higher education, a salary deduction made by an employee under this subchapter shall be considered compensation under this chapter and salary and wages and member compensation under Title 8.
- (b) If authorized by federal law, a salary deduction or salary reduction under this subchapter may be made on a pretax basis.
