Each entity receiving notice of a child's initial placement in an institution under Section 546.0211 may contact the child's parent or guardian to ensure that the parent or guardian is aware of:

1. (1) services and support that could provide alternatives to placing the child in the institution;
2. (2) available placement options; and
3. (3) opportunities for permanency planning.
