1. (a) A surety on a guardian's bond may at any time file with the clerk a petition requesting that the court in which the proceeding is pending:

   1. (1) require the guardian to give a new bond; and
   2. (2) discharge the petitioner from all liability for the future acts of the guardian.
2. (b) If a petition is filed under Subsection (a), the guardian shall be cited to appear and give a new bond.
