1. (1) The facilities shall have the capability for use of either in-house or consultant laboratory service for blood chemistry, cultures and antibiotic sensitivity testing, complete blood counts, histopathological examinations and necropsies. The in-house laboratory facility shall meet the following minimum standards:

   1. (a) The laboratory room shall be clean and orderly with provision made for ample storage;
   2. (b) Adequate refrigeration shall be provided;

   3. (c) All facilities must have a minimum, in-house capability of the conduct of:

      1. 1. Urine tests,
      2. 2. Micro-hematocrit determination,
      3. 3. Flotation tests for ova of internal parasites,
      4. 4. Skin scraping for external parasite diagnosis, and
      5. 5. Exams for diagnosing heartworm disease.
