- (1) The minimum amounts referred to in Rule 1340-06-01-.06 are hereby prescribed as follows: Property Carriers Commodity Transported Limits For-Hire (in interstate, intrastate, Property (nonhazardous) $750,000 or foreign commerce, with a gross vehicle weight rating of 10,001 or more pounds) For-Hire and Private (in Hazardous substances, as $5,000,000 interstate, foreign, or intrastate defined in 49 CFR 171.8, commerce, with a gross vehicle transported in bulk in cargo weight rating of 10,001 or more tanks, portable tanks, or hopper- pounds) type vehicles with capacities in bulk; in bulk Division 1.1, 1.2 or 1.3 materials; Division 2.3, Hazard Zone A material; in bulk Division 6.1, Packing Group I, Hazard Zone A material; in bulk Division 2.1 or 2.2 material; or highway route controlled OF MOTOR VEHICLES AND MOTOR BUSES quantities of a Class 7 material, as defined in 49 CFR 173.403 For-Hire and Private (in Oil listed in 49 CFR 172.101; $1,000,000 interstate, intrastate, or foreign hazardous waste, hazardous commerce, in any quantity; with a materials, and hazardous gross vehicle weight rating of substances defined in 49 CFR 10,001 or more pounds) 171.8 and listed in 49 CFR 172.101, but not mentioned in (b) above or (d) below For-Hire and Private (in In bulk Division 1.1, 1.2, or 1.3 $5,000,000 interstate, intrastate, or foreign material; in bulk Division 2.3, commerce, with a gross vehicle Hazard Zone A material; in bulk weight rating of less than 10,001 Division 6.1, Packing Group I, pounds) Hazard Zone A material; or highway route controlled quantities of a Class 7 material as defined in 49 CFR 173.403 Motor Carrier and Contract Property $300,000 Hauler with a gross vehicle weight rating of less than 10,001 pounds
(2) Passenger Carriers
- (a) Any vehicle with a seating capacity of 16 passengers or more, including the driver: $5,000,000
- (b) Any vehicle with a seating capacity of 15 passengers or less, including the driver: $1,500,000
(3) Motor Common Carriers (intrastate only) - Cargo liability security required for loss or damage to property belonging to shippers or consignees and coming into the possession of motor carriers in connection with their transportation service:
- (a) For loss or damage to property carried on any one motor vehicle: $5,000.
- (b) For loss of or damage to or aggregate of losses or damages of or to property occurring at any one time and place: $10,000.
