- (1) The license to practice as an Occupational Therapist or an Occupational Therapy Assistant is prescribed and limited by the Tennessee Code Annotated (see especially T.C.A. § 63-13- 103). The license is conferred by the Board of Occupational Therapy for applicants who have been found to meet established standards.
(2) The Board adopts for licensed occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants, as if fully set out herein, the “Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics” issued by the American Occupational Therapy Association effective December 2020, and the “Candidate/Certificant Code of Conduct” approved by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy effective July 2022, except to the extent that it conflicts with the laws of the state of Tennessee or the rules of the Board.
