The RN:
- (1) Practices within the legal boundaries for nursing through the scope of practice authorized in the Tennessee Code and rules governing nursing.
- (2) Demonstrates honesty and integrity in nursing practice.
- (3) Bases nursing decisions on nursing knowledge and skills, the needs of patients and registered nursing standards.
- (4) Accepts responsibility for judgments, individual nursing actions, competence, decisions and behavior in the course of nursing practice.
- (5) Maintains competence through ongoing learning and application of knowledge in registered nursing practice.
- (6) Reports violations of the Nursing Practice Act or rules by self or other licensees.
