The purpose of this chapter is to set forth what constitutes discrimination under T.C.A. § 50-3-409, the procedures to be followed by employees who allege that they have been discriminated against contrary to the provisions of that statute, and the procedures to be followed by the Commissioner of Labor and Workforce Development in investigating and attempting settlement of discrimination complaints, either through voluntary settlement or through litigation.
