1. (1) The certified clinical pastoral therapists and anyone under their supervision shall conduct their professional practice in conformity with the legal, ethical and professional standards established by the Board.

2. (2) All licensees shall comply with the current code of ethics adopted by the American Association of Pastoral Counselors (AAPC), except to the extent that it conflicts with the laws of the state of Tennessee or the rules of the Board. If the code of ethics conflicts with state law or rules, the state law or rules govern the matter. Violation of the codes of ethics or state law or rules may subject a licensee to disciplinary action.

   1. (a) Each applicant or licensee is responsible for being familiar with and following this code of ethics.
   2. (b) A copy of this code of ethics may be obtained by writing the American Association of Pastoral Counselors, 9504A Lee Highway, Fairfax, VA 22031-2303.
