Any person desiring to conduct a uranium exploration operation shall, prior to entry on the land, file with the Board of Minerals and Environment an application and receive a permit to conduct a uranium exploration operation on a form approved by the board. Each uranium exploration operation application shall be limited to sixteen contiguous townships. An application for a permit shall include the following:

1. (1) An application form pursuant to § 45-6D-7;
2. (2) A plan of reclamation pursuant to § 45-6D-9;
3. (3) A map pursuant to § 45-6D-10; and
4. (4) A fee pursuant to § 45-6D-18. Any person conducting uranium exploration activities that are not included within the scope of a uranium exploration operation is not required to file an application or receive an exploration operation permit required by this chapter.
