Terms in this chapter mean:

1. (1) "Authorized agency," the Department of Social Services of South Dakota or any agency licensed by the department to place children for adoption;
2. (2) "Child," any minor;
3. (3) "Parents," the mother and father, if living, of a child;
4. (4) "Putative father," any person who claims to be, or is named as, the biological father or a possible biological father of a child, and whose paternity of the child has not been judicially determined.
