Contribution or loan from public or foreign entity--Prohibition--Penalty.

A candidate or political committee may not accept any contribution or loan from:
- (1) A state;
- (2) A state agency;
- (3) A political subdivision of a state;
- (4) A foreign government;
- (5) A foreign national, as defined in 52 U.S.C. § 30121(b) (January 1, 2026);
- (6) A federal agency; or
- (7) The federal government. A violation of this section is a Class 1 misdemeanor. A subsequent offense within a calendar year is a Class 6 felony.
