The rear trailer of the LCV must have affixed to it a sign that states, "LONG LOAD." The sign must be at least 7 feet long and 18 inches high. The color of the sign must be black letters on yellow background. At minimum, the sign's lettering must be 10 inches high with a 1.41-inch brush stroke. (See note at the end of this section.)

Note: It is recommended that the sign be laid out using a Series B lettering, according to the requirements set forth in the document titled, "Standard Alphabets for Highway Signs and Pavement Markings," United States Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration, Office of Traffic Operations, Washington, D.C. 20590.
