ARSD 67:54:05:03 – Criteria used to determine existence of mental disease.

The utilization control team shall determine an individual's need for specialized psychiatric services based on a psychiatric evaluation that verifies the existence and manifested persistence of a severe mental illness which requires specialized psychiatric treatment beyond monitoring of psychotropic medication.
