As a condition of eligibility, an individual applying for or receiving assistance under this article must provide the department with the necessary verification to establish initial or continuing eligibility or information necessary for quality control efforts. The individual must also cooperate with the department in establishing the paternity of an applicant or recipient child and in obtaining medical support and medical payments unless the individual establishes good cause for not cooperating. Failure or refusal to cooperate or supply the necessary information results in the denial of an application or the termination of current benefits.
A pregnant woman is exempt from this section with regard to establishing paternity for a child conceived out of wedlock who has yet to be born.
Good cause is established following the provisions of §§ 67:10:01:26 through 67:10:01:34, inclusive.
