A kinship foster parent shall use positive guidance and redirection, and set clear-cut limits for discipline, to help a kinship child develop self-control, self-esteem, and respect for the rights of others. A kinship foster parent shall discuss methods of discipline with the child's worker. A kinship foster parent may not delegate discipline to an older child or peer. Any discipline or control used by a kinship foster parent must be appropriate to the kinship child's age and developmental level. Physical punishment is prohibited.
