An individual, or the individual's legal representative, may request a hearing by notifying the department, orally or in writing, within thirty days of receiving the department's determination. Hearings are conducted under the provisions of chapter 67:17:02. Any costs associated with an individual's legal counsel are the responsibility of the individual.
