As used in this article:

1. (1) "Federally qualified health center" means an entity that meets the requirements set forth in 42 C.F.R. § 405.2401, as amended to November 23, 2018;
2. (2) "Provider" means a federally qualified health center or a rural health clinic;
3. (3) "Rural health clinic" means a facility that meets the requirements set forth in 42 C.F.R. § 405.2401, as amended to November 23, 2018;
4. (4) "Telehealth" means a method of delivering services, including interactive audio-visual or audio-only technology, in accordance with SDCL chapter 34-52; and
5. (5) "Visit" means a face-to-face or telehealth encounter between a federally qualified health center or rural health clinic patient and a physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, nurse midwife, visiting nurse, mental health provider listed in § 67:16:41:03, dentist, or an accredited substance use disorder provider.
