County welfare funds or Bureau of Indian Affairs general assistance grants. County welfare funds or Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) general assistance grants payable to applicants for or recipients of aid to families with dependent children (AFDC) must be considered income only to the extent that the county welfare funds or BIA general assistance grants are designated to meet all or a portion of the needs of the eligible AFDC household.

County welfare funds or BIA general assistance grants for medical or hospital expenses are not considered in determining eligibility for or the amount of the AFDC grant.
