If the department requests additional evidence of the types specified in § 67:12:01:66.04 to determine good cause, the department must promptly notify the applicant or recipient and shall specify the types of documents needed. Upon request, the department shall assist the applicant or recipient by advising how to obtain the documents, and attempt to obtain documents the applicant or recipient cannot reasonably obtain without assistance.
