The fee for a new or renewed license or nondriver identification card issued pursuant to SDCL 32-12-42.1 must be prorated as follows:

1. (1) For a license or nondriver identification card that would be valid for up to one year: twenty-five percent of the total application fee in SDCL 32-12-16;
2. (2) For a license or nondriver identification card that would be valid for more than one year and up to two years: fifty percent of the total application fee in SDCL 32-12-16; and

3. (3) For a license or nondriver identification card that would be valid for more than two years up to four years: seventy-five percent of the total application fee in SDCL 32-12-16.

   If the resulting prorated fee is not a whole number, the prorated fee must be rounded down to the nearest dollar.
