Approved training pursuant to SDCL 61-6-21 is limited to the following:

1. (1) Training under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act as in effect on July 1, 2015, and the Trade Act of 1974 as in effect on January 1, 1993; or

2. (2) Programs of instruction in vocational training or in basic educational or employment skills.

   An individual in approved training must be principally occupied as a student and be able to complete the program in 24 months or less.
