A facility may stock opioid antagonists for emergency use if the facility develops and implements written policies and procedures consistent with manufacturer guidelines for the safe storage and use. Opioid antagonists must be stored in a manner that allows access only to individuals qualified to administer the opioid antagonist. Qualified personnel may administer an opioid antagonist in accordance with the facility’s policies and procedures. The facility must provide initial, and annual training to all personnel qualified to administer an opioid antagonist.
