The facility shall establish and maintain policies and procedures that provide nurses and other healthcare personnel with methods of meeting the facility's administrative and technical responsibilities in providing care to residents. The policies must include:

1. (1) The noting of diagnostic and therapeutic orders;
2. (2) The assignment of the nursing care of residents;
3. (3) Administration and control of medications;
4. (4) Assessment and documentation by nurses;
5. (5) Documentation by healthcare personnel;
6. (6) Infection control;
7. (7) Resident safety;
8. (8) Delineation of orders from nonphysician practitioners; and
9. (9) Activities of daily living to maintain each resident's physical functioning and personal care.
