Each facility must meet applicable fire safety standards in NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, 2012 edition in chapter 32 or 33. An automatic sprinkler system is not required in an existing facility unless significant renovations or remodeling of greater than fifty percent of the facility occurs, provided that any existing automatic sprinkler system must remain in service. An attic heat detection system is not required in an existing facility unless significant renovations or remodeling of greater than fifty percent of the facility occurs.
