Each abortion facility shall be designed and equipped for the types of abortion procedures to be performed.
- (1) A minimum area of 115 square feet (10.8 square meters);
- (2) Equipped with a vinyl floor surface;
- (3) A work station and handwashing sink. Handwashing facilities must be equipped with hands-free controls and have a water supply spout mounted so that the discharge is a minimum five inches above the rim of the fixture;
- (4) Adequate lighting with protective covers to prevent lamps from shattering; and
(5) Battery operated emergency lighting.
Procedure services shall include:
- (1) Provisions for immediate post-procedure care; and
- (2) Emergency drugs and supplies specified by the medical staff.
Procedure rooms shall meet the following requirements:
