44 : 05 : 02 : 20 . Electronic patient care reports . An ambulance service shall record each response on an electronic patient care report provided by the department. The ambulance service shall submit the patient care report to the department within seventy-two hours of completion of an ambulance response. The department's electronic patient care report must be compliant with the National Emergency Medical Services Information System, Version 3.5. An ambulance service shall keep a copy of each patient care report on file for a minimum of seven years, or in the case of a minor, until the minor reaches twenty-one years of age .
