Words and phrases defined in SDCL 34-11-2 have the same meaning when used in this article. In addition, as used in this article, the term, response, means the response of an ambulance and personnel to an emergency for the purpose of rendering medical care or transportation, or both, to someone ill or injured, cancelled calls, no transports, and standby events where medical care may be rendered.
