In big game seasons where landowner preference is established, the related provisions in SDCL 41-6-21 shall apply only to any landowner and tenant on private land tracts of 160 acres or more unless otherwise provided in the season rules. No such preference may be claimed by an applicant unless the private land is located within the hunting unit applied for.
