The required courses and experiences of a K-12 comprehensive school health education program shall meet the most recent edition of the SHAPE (SocietyofHealthandPhysicalEducators) America National standards for Initial Health Education Teacher Education, 2018 edition.

The program shall require candidates to demonstrate the content, pedagogical, and professional knowledge and skills identified in the SHAPE standards and to demonstrate competency on the multiple assessment measures of chapters 24:53:04, 24:53:05, and 24:53:06.
