24 : 28 : 14 : 09 . Requirements to obtain an early childhood special education or K-12 special education endorsement. A special education alternative certification applicant for an early childhood special education endorsement or K-12 special education endorsement shall:

1. (1) Complete a six-credit, year-long special education practicum;
2. (2) Complete nine credits of coursework in special education law, assessment, and a special education-related course within the ten-year period prior to application;
3. (3) Pass the state-designated pedagogy test;
4. (4) Pass the state-designated content test; and
5. (5) Receive signoff from the applicant's employing school district or department-accredited school.
