A program sponsor must retain or have access to documentation for four years to support compliance with standards. A program sponsor must retain or have access to the following:

1. (1) Records of participants;
2. (2) Dates and locations;
3. (3) Instructor names and credentials;
4. (4) Number of continuing professional credits earned by participants;
5. (5) Results of program evaluations; and

6. (6) Evidence of compliance with responsibilities included in these standards.

   Sponsors must have access to or maintain copies of program materials, evidence that the program materials were developed and reviewed by qualified parties, and a record of how continuing professional education credits were determined. Informal organizations presenting continuing professional education courses may abdicate responsibility for retention of required documentation to a participating CPA or PA.
