ARSD 20:53:05:07
Examination for applicants desiring to become licensed shall consist of the following:
(1) Questions which are based upon appliance installation and application. The applicant may use the code to answer these questions.
The questions for the appliance contractor and the appliance installer need not be the same. The passing grade for the appliance contractor is 80 percent and the passing grade for the appliance installer is 70 percent. If an appliance installer receives 80 percent or above on the installer examination, the installer is not required to write the appliance contractor's examination when applying for the contractor's license, but must pay the license and examination fee for a contractor's license and must meet the experience requirements for appliance contractors in § 20:53:05:03. An applicant may sit for the exam for the same license only once every three months.
