To qualify for a renewal of a pharmacist license or reinstatement, a pharmacist must complete twelve hours of approved continuing education. The twelve hours of approved continuing education required each year for renewal must be completed within the twenty-four months before the pharmacist's license expires. If a pharmacist applies for yearly renewal of the pharmacist's license pursuant to SDCL 36-11-23, in order to receive renewal, the pharmacist must have completed the required hours. If the pharmacist has a certification to administer immunizations, the pharmacist must complete one hour of continuing education related to immunizations, which may be one of the required twelve hours.
