The following nursing tasks may not be delegated to a dialysis technician:

1. (1) Initiation or discontinuation of dialysis via a central catheter except as authorized in § 20:48:04.02:10;
2. (2) Administration of medications, except as authorized in § 20:48:04.02:05 or as delegated in accordance with §§ 20:48:04.01:09 to 20:48:04.01:13, inclusive;
3. (3) Administration of blood or blood products;
4. (4) Acceptance of medical orders.
5. (5) Assessments that require professional nursing judgment, intervention, referral, or follow-up;
6. (6) Formulation of a plan of nursing care and evaluation of the client's response to the care rendered;
7. (7) Specific tasks involved in the implementation of a plan of nursing care that require nursing judgment or intervention; and
8. (8) Health counseling or teaching.
