This chapter applies to all group and individual life policies and certificates sold on or after the effective date of this chapter except the following:

1. (1) Variable life insurance;
2. (2) Individual and group annuity contracts;
3. (3) Credit life insurance; and
4. (4) Life insurance policies with no illustrated death benefits on any individual exceeding $10,000.
