When two or more horses of an entry or field figure in a dead heat or multiple dead heats in one race, each horse of the entry or field participating is entitled to its proportionate award of the profits in the pool or pools that are affected. The sum of the total profits in each pool for the entry or field shall be used as a dividend to calculate the payoff for the entry or field in that pool.
