1. A. The water plant of the utility shall be constructed, installed, maintained and operated in accordance with accepted good engineering practice and regulations included to assure as far as reasonably possible, continuity of service, uniformity in the quality of service furnished, and the safety of persons and property.

   The design and construction of the water plant shall conform to the requirements of the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control.

2. B. Disinfection of facilities. All new mains, pumps, tanks, wells and other facilities for handling potable water, repaired mains and other facilities, shall be thoroughly disinfected before being connected to the system. The method of disinfection shall be as approved by the Department of Health and Environmental Control.
