1. (a) Volunteers, at the discretion of the center provider, may take part in program orientation and training, as described in § 11.33 (relating to program staff orientation and training).

2. (b) Volunteer duties are mutually determined by volunteers and staff persons. Duties, to be performed under the supervision of a staff member, shall either supplement the staff in established activities or provide additional services for which the volunteer has special talents. Sample duties may include:

   1. (1) Working under the direction of the staff to carry out program activities.
   2. (2) Providing supplemental programs, such as parties and special events.
   3. (3) Fundraising and public relations.
   4. (4) Leading activities in areas of special knowledge, experience or expertise.
3. (c) At the discretion of the center provider, volunteers may, due to the nature of their duties, be required to meet requirements for a physical examination in § 11.132 (relating to staff physical examination).
